!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!16.60!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well what a weekend, it was our last Flyball show of the year and determined to get in one last camping expedition before the winter - we packed the caravan and drove up to Wythall on the Friday night, not even minding that we had to set up in the dark!
Saturday was a lazy day for Jon and I as Woody was not competing until the Sunday, It was cold, windy and at times wet, but that didn't spoil the day. We had a lovely stroll over to the farm shop and bought lots of yummy goodies........... and lots of tasty beer!!!!
Bassetts had 3 teams racing on the Saturday, so we had lots to watch and cheer on! It was a sad day in one respect as one of our club members Katy had decided that their dog Merlin was to retire after the show, and I could see how hard it was for her in the ring during their races. HAPPY RETIREMENT MERLIN!
In the evening those that were camping from our club, went for a lovely carvery meal, that tasted even better knowing it cost only £3.50 !!!! As usual we had a great night and a lot of laughs, although i'm still having nighmares at Wendy's new box loading proposal!!
Sunday we woke to the exciting news that one of our team members long awaited puppy had been born over night! A lovely litter of 4 merles and 1 b/w. I cant wait to see the photos Jo (hint hint!!!!)
Now down to the racing what can I say, fantastic racing as a team all day, we won every leg and finished first, but thats not all.............. with a new seed time and a NEW BRITISH RECORD OF 16.60!!!!!!!!!
We just couldn't believe it, the previous British record set by the Hotdogs in July was 16.70, although this had been beaten in September by The High Flyers, who ran a stonking time of 16.66, only to be dealt the cruel blow of it not standing due to the fact that there was no video evidence. This put the Hotdogs in the uncomfortable position of retaining the British record but knowing in fact the flyers should really be the rightful holders............ So it made it even more special to see that 16.60 flash up! what a fantastic end to a fantastic season...........
British champions 2009 and British record holders!
Hopefully I will be able to post the video of the race once they have been uploaded.
AGILITY NEWS: Lastly, I just need to say well done to Laura Chudleigh and Rodney (Flickcee Hot Rod), Mika and Lennon's litter brother, who won into Grade 6 this weekend, having only "come out" in the middle of July in Grade 3, they have risen effortlessly through the grades........ in with the big boys now Rodders!!!!!
